How do I remember what I learn in college, for a long period of time?

Now that I am in college taking serious classes, it is the first time I truly need to remember everything I am learning. Instead of forgetting everything I've learned over a summer, or even just from semester to semester, how can I retain everything that I learn?

I may be able to get a 100% on a multiple choice test, but ask me those same questions three weeks later without the choices, and I wouldn't have a clue.

Thanks :D

  1. Try making flash cards and review them regularly

    :)

  2. Few can remember all things. If you don't use it you lose it.

However, one method I learned from an old teacher who loved studying the human brain was this:

    - Learn something and you remember it for a day

    - Review it tomorrow and you remember it for a week

    - Review it a week later and you remember it for a month

    - Review it a month later and you remember it for a year

After that, 'your miles may vary'.

  3. You won't remember it. Stop trying. You have to practice it and put what you are learning into action. Few people can retain random facts.

  4. Take great notes and save and label notebooks.

  5. review everyday!

im going into grade 10 and i have already started studing for my PCAT! because i have to do well on it to become a pharmacist. n e ways i have to remeber what i studied for  3 more years or so. and the way i remember is review a little bit everday!

  6. you need to note it down in your book so that you can re- study it. and you'll be alright.

    Also, consider of reading books.
