Question:

How do I remind myself not to always go to the fridge and eat?

I am trying to lose weight, but everytime I get bored or everytime I am home.. I go to the fridge and eat junk food. I want to have a way to remind myself to not go straight for something to eat and only eat good foods when my stomach growls :D :P

  1. my advice would be to go to the fridge and get a big glass of ice water and also a bite or small portion of junk food. eat the junk food and the taste will stay in your mouth for awhile. when you think you want more just start drinking the ice water. works for me.

    you have to want to lose weight more than you want to eat more.

    if you put foods off limits ,it creates a psychological craving. if you don't put them off limits then you either won't want them or a little bit will be enough. a bite tastes exactly the same as alot.

    /// another thing you can do is start thinking how the junk food tastes if it has foods that you hate in it and things like bug guts and worse. this is called aversion therapy. you won't eat something if it turns you off mentally.


  2. Seriously, put a note on the fridge saying, "think before you eat"

    or "eat something healty"  or something that will work for you to remind you.

    You have to stop buying junk food and fill your fridge with fruits and veggies.  So when you go in the fridge for example, eat carrots with hummus, or celery, or a few grapes.  Freeze bananas so you can eat instead of buying icecream when you haunt the freezer for junk. etc.

  3. Put a bad looking picture up of your self on the fridge to remind yourself of your goal. Try drinking more water before you go towards the fridge.  When ever you feel hungry try to take your mind off of it by doing another activity or hobby!  

  4. put a chain with a padlock around your fridge,keep the key in another part of the house.

  5. uhh.. What helped for me sometimes, as stupid as it sounds.. is putting an elastic band on your arm and snap it everytime you think of eating

  6. 2 things: 1st get rid of all the junk food in your house and then even if you go to the fridge you will have to eat something healthy. 2nd break old patterns of behavior by substituting something that you enjoy that will keep you from constantly thinking of  food.     GOOD LUCK
