I don't want it! It must have tagged along with another program. Please tell me how I can remove this stupid thing. Uninstall does nothing.

  1. look at the top of your page on the line that says File, Edit, View,  etc

Click view, open toolbars, UNCHECK any you don't want showing up

To get them back, check them again.

  2. For XP:

Go to your control panel and then go into Add/Remove Programs. Look for it in the list, click on it and select Remove.

    For Vista:

Go into the control panel, then into programs, then installed programs. Find the Ask Toolbar in the list and go to File - Change\Remove.

If this doesn't work try downloading and installing CCleaner. It has a program removal utility.

  3. Close the browser windows.  Go to Add/Remove programs and remove Ask.com bar.  If it still shows up in your browser, reboot your computer.

If it doesn't work, then repost with specific information.  "Uninstall does nothing" doesn't tell us what you tried to do.

  4. when i have problems like this i go into the search on my computer and type it in. sometimes they hide stuff so this way you'll get a list of everything that they have installed.when the list comes up you can right click on the items and delete them from there.ive had problems getting things out with uninstall to but this method seems to work great
