Question:

How do I remove GREASE STAINS from my HOME-MADE QUILT??

I made my mom a quilt 2 Christmases ago & some parts of it are pictures. There is this fabric you buy at a crafts store & you can print pictures onto it. Well sure enough, grease stains got on those parts. I can't use a bleach pen because it will remove the ink of the picture. I did try to go around things & got it a little better, but it won't leave all the way.

Any suggestions?

  1. Try Dawn Dish Soap , it is especially useful and get grease out. It helped me alot.

  2. dawn dish soap works good on grease. try on a small spot and rub lightly with a clean, damp, sponge.      if you think you can machine wash the quilt, put a little dawn on all of the spots and let soak in the washer for awhile, the spin out the water. don't agitate it( or only use the agitate cycle for a min or so )   this will unnecessary cause wear to the fabric . if machine washing is not an option, then just try the sponge on all of the spots .      good luck, i know quilts are a lot of work, and what a shame to have one soiled
