How do I remove Windows Antivirus XP 2008?

I don't know how it got installed but it is here and wont leave! I cant delete it when i go to Add/remove programs because it says it is only a trial and cant be deleted. It says i have to buy it but i don't want to! HELP!

Firstly, antivirus programs will NOT remove these as they are malicious codecs, although they may find reference to them and remove it but upon rebooting it's back again.

Thereforeyou need to use a 'layered' approach to removing this parasite which has been successful in hundreds of cases:

Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

Disconnect your computer from the internet

Run vundo

Restart your computer

Run the tool again to ensure no traces are left.

If there are the reboot into Safe Mode and run FixVundo again.

If your desktop has changed or icons are missing also use:

Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.

If the problem persists, turn OFF System Restore, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Tick Turn Off System restore on all drives and scan with the above programs in Safe Mode - tap F8 during boot before Windows splash screen and select Safe Mode.

After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point.

I think that you should use Malwarebytes' anti-malware software. its free and it will delete it. Google it and many sites will have it. This is what I did to remove it. I didnt want to manually remove it because that might mess up my computer, so this software did the job. plz jus try it, it really works.

I had this antivirus xp 2008 and i could not afford to waste any money on software that didn't work so i searched google and found one of the removal guides http://www.spyware-techie.com/antivirusx... and followed the automatic steps and it worked.

Im a poor college student and i could not go without my pc so i had to do a little research. Hope this helps.

Whatever you do don't buy it!! I just went thought the same experienced and fixed it anti virus software will not help you I tried a dozen to no avail. What did help was SDFix it is completely free and will solve all of your problems by clearing your registry and resetting your browser to defaults first you download it then run it in safe mode (pressF12 during the boot up) you must be patient and follow all the instructions it will work in the future be careful where you go and what you click on because this may attack your network too

download the kaspersky antivirus free 30 day trial, and then run the scan on your entire computer. delete everything that pops up during the scan, or terminate the programs as necessary. after the scan is complete, restart the computer. stay off of bad websites from now on. good luck!!!
