  1. unhook the negative cable on your car battery

if it is a stock radio, its a bit more ocmplicated and annoying. i'll do that one first.

open the glove box and remove all the screws that hold the faceplate/cover of your dash. this will include the air conditioning grills. there will be screws around the instrument panel (guages) remove those, but not those that go through the plastic/glass. there are some on both sides of the steering column. and some above the radio area. all must be removeed, and then the dash faceplate/cover will come free.

save all those screws lol. now that this is free there will be one of maybe 2 things going on. if you have a digital climate control unit or something that isn't sliders and k***s, you might be in trouble, i've never done one but sometimes if it is you need to replace that unit. i doubt it though on a buick.

so now that part is off, go ahead and attept to slide that radio out. there will we a harness deal in the back, lots of wires that come to a clip kind of like on the wires for your computer monitor, they end up asnd one piece. carefully unclip the two pieces.

unhook the negative in the back of your radio. if it is an aftermarket radio it will be obvious, but if it isn't, you may have to cut wires. if you do, do it one at a time and label them explicitly uning black tape. if it is the normal radio you probably will have to.

so far this is easy, not hard.

then, the wiring harness you bought (if it isn't already aftermarket) has wires that will be "crimped" to the wires u just cut. color by color, lebel to label. very carefully. use plastic crimp caps, by twisting the stransd of the 2 ends of the wire together, place the plastic cap over it, use needlenose pliers to clamp them shut.

then the new harness will clip onto your new head unit. the negative you pulled out gfoes into the new head unit, you slide it back in.you place whatever plastic cover goes on, then u put ur dash back together in reverse order.

re hook your negative battery terminal
