I have a bottle of Murray Bicycle Tire Sealer, and in the Directions the first step is to "Remove valve core from tire." What is a valve core and how do I remove it?

  1. use a valve core remover if u dont have one u can use a fork carefuly bend all but 2 prongs out of way take the 2 bend them close together but not touching insert turn to left but be careful hope this halps

  2. The valve core is the little metal thing that sticks up in the middle of the air valve on each inner tube.  It's the bit that gets depressed when you push a pump onto the valve, and the bit that keeps air from escaping (or entering) unless depressed.

The bike tire sealer may have come with a valve core tool--it looks like a little cap with a small slot in it, as if for an odd-sized screwdriver.  Otherwise, needle-nose pliers would work.

  3. You need a core remover.   Should be available at any autoparts store.  Cheap.

HOWEVER.  You'd be better off fixing or replacing your punctured tube than fooling with that gunk.    Its not all that effective, and will eventually seal you valve as well, making it impossible to pump up your tire.

  4. you have to get a valve remover, and then put it on the valve and twist it to the left

and there you go, its off, and for a new 1, do the same thing but to the right.

  5. You can buy a new tube for under $5...
