How do I remove an aerator from a faucet? When I try to spin it, it just spins but it doesnt come off?

I am trying to install a brita filter on my faucet in my new apt. But whn I try to remove the aerator, it just spins and doesn't come undone. Since its not my house, i'm afraid to use force to rip it off, any ideas here?

Try to apply some downward pressure (Towards the basket strainer) to the aerator as you turn it counter clockwise.
