Recently I let a piece of lumber soak in a bucket of bleach and water. After letting it soak, I realized that just letting dry probably wouldn't take out the bleach. It's for my lizards so i want it all gone. help me?

  1. soak the wood in plain water for an hour then change the water for fresh, do this for 3 - 4 hours and the clean water will dilute any bleach left on the wood, let it dry out and the wood should be bleach free, best of luck honey.

  2. After bleaching, the wood may contain a bit of the chemicals, so you'll need to wash up immediately with clean water using a sponge. Then a coat of ordinary table vinegar without dilution will neutralize any alkaline traces left on the surface and make it safe for use. The wood should be allowed to dry at least twelve hours.
