How do I remove blue dye from inside a dryer?

I put new jeans in the dryer and the inside turned blue. How do I remove the dye?

  1. You can wipe the inside of the dryer with bleach and then wipe it really good with a damp cloth. Dry it with a clean towel. Turn the dryer on for a couple of minutes with the towel in it to make sure the inside is dry before using with anything colored.


  2. You can try to use rubbing alcohol, but most likely the stain is set into the metal from the heating and cooling of the dryer. My dryer has been like that for years, doesn't stain your future loads.


  3. A product made by 3M will take it right off.  It's called:

    3M Marine Fiberglass Restorer and Wax.

    It's the only thing that worked after trying virtually everything else, including Clorox, Fantastic, Goo-gone, soap, tar remover, and so on.  I had this in the garage with our boating supplies and gave it a try.  Lo and behold, with just a bit of elbow grease, the dye came right off.
