How do I remove candle wax from the bottom of a hurricane lamp?

The candle "collapsed" and the wax re-formed like a puddle around the bottom of the lamp. The wick has also folded in. Do I just need to spoon everything out?

Put the lamp somewhere cool (fridge) for ten minutes to harden the wax and then use an old credit card or something similar as a scraper. This will probably lift the wax off in one or two large pieces and won't scratch the lamp.

Heat it up until the wax melts then pour it out.
