How do I remove cannabis stains from the carpet? Not sure if they are ash or resin stains.?

My previous roommate was a heavy pot smoker. Now that I have asked her to remove her furniture and belongings from one of the rooms she used, I notice dark stains on the carpet.

When I asked her about it she said they were from her smoking. Please help. It looks gross and I want to clean the carpet.

Yes. Rubbing alcohol. Put some in a spray bottle. After vacuuming the carpet well, spray it down with the alcohol. Resin is very sticky and the alcohol will help break it down a little bit. Resin also stains things easily, so the more you can break it down before steam cleaning the carpet the better. If you find sticky areas of black resin, spot clean those as much as possible by hand before steam cleaning.

Let it sit a while then proceed to steam clean. Get a rental unit. You'll probably have to go over it several times and you'll want to change water often. And you may want to spray the floor down with Febreeze before it dries. The heat from the steamer will likely bring up the smell from the carpet and bong resin reeks.

I would suggest trying rubbing alcohol in it to start breaking up the resin.

Rubbing alcohol is good for cleaning bongs and such so it should at least break up the stains a little. I would clean it with water after and if it doesn't come out to your satisfaction, I would use a steam cleaner vacuum.

I suggest trying clorox and a toothbrush depending on what color the carpet is. if not clorox try simple green or aother strong cleaner. elbow grease!!

Try steam cleaning the carpet and make sure you presoak the spots with some stain remover

Maybe bong water???  I'd suggest renting a hand-held carpet cleaner from Home Depot or similar.
