Question:

How do I remove cat urine from hardwood floors?

I just moved in with a roomate 3 months ago with my 2 female cats. Anyway, in the back room are the computers and the youngest one of the 2 urinenated in the back of the computer on the carpet, anyway we did get that out. Then she started in the front hallway as soon as you walk through the front door on the hardwood floor and the smell is not moving anywhere. I wonder why she is doing it? Maybe cause its an older house? The smell of the house? I don't know? And I know nothing is wrong with her, we never had this problem in my apartment.

Any answers to my question would be appreciated.

  1. DON'T LET THE CAT PEE ON THE FLOOR

  2. put vinegar.

it may stink badly but leave it ther for a while and it will be gone and stop the cat from urinating in that spot again

  3. She may have gone there because a previous resident cat did and she thinks its okay.  to deter her I would clean it with vinegar and also place foil on the spot which cats normally don't like or her food dishes.

    Good Luck

  5. I'm not an expert with hardwood floors, but I would start with vinegar.  You have to be very careful with hardwood floors and the ultimate fix is to remove and replace the areas that have been damaged.

If you little one has not been altered, then that's the first step.  She should see a vet to rule out any medical problems.  And, your vet will be able to advise you about behavioral issues.
