My carpet was original, 1975.  The adhesive was pretty brittle.  I used a flat hoe (blade inline with the handle) and ran at shallow angle with the floor.  Had to follow up with a sharp chisle to finish.  took about 1.5 hours for 45 sqft.

take as much off as u can...soak what's left with Goof Off and let it sit for awhile...try scraping again....should do it....

if not, ck with a good marine store for a solvent that can disolve that stuff and not harm the fiberglass....i've seen something like that but can't remember name....

Warm it with a hair dryer and use a wide putty knife to scrape it off.
