  1. Hi Flossy...........A little bleach will clean most problems like that............easyyyyyyyyyyyyy on the bleach. nite

  2. You have to remove it and scrub it clean with detergent and a scrub pad. I avoid buildup all together by using white vinegar to soften my laundry instead of fabric softener. It is much more economical (I buy the 1 gallon jug for $1.28 and use 1/2 cup in the front loader and 1 cup in  the top loader), does not compromise the flame retardant on night clothing, and is eco friendly.

  3. Had the same problem.  I had to take mine off and wash it in hot soapy water. I use a Bounce Ball now. You can use other softeners in them and they still work.

  4. Full strength white vinegar cuts right through softener scum. It's easiest to do if you can take the dispenser out and take to your sink. Just put the vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the dispenser really good. Let it sit 5 minutes or so, then just wipe out. If you can't remove it from the machine you can still treat it the same way and get a toothbrush and q-tip to get aroung the crevices.

  5. Try the info. on this UK website.  Very helpful I think.  Good luck.

  6. try maybe taking the despenser out and washing it if there is holes where u pour the softner in to try to take a q tip we use 409 to clean out the washer and the despenser  it works good

  7. I have to run my machine empty, water full, with bleach to get rid of it. A washing machine repairer told me not to use Softener as it deteriorates hoses and things. But I still do (I hate cardboard towls and jeans :))
