My daughter glued paper to the screen on our back porch. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the glue and paper?

  1. Well, isn't that cute.  I have been through my share of non-traditional decorating techniques (from my daughter) but haven't seen that one yet.

I have had paint on a screen.  You don't say what kind of glue, but if it is something substantial (like paint) you should forget cleaning and have the screen replaced.  Not the whole thing, just remove the frame and take it to a glass shop and have them put new screen in it.  Some lumber yards and hardware stores offer the service as well, so you may want to check.

If you are lucky enough that the glue is not too strong, you might remove the screen and spray it with the garden hose or soak it in the bathtub with hot water.  Again, without knowing what kind of glue it is hard to say if that will work or not, but worth a try.

  2. replacing the screen would be the easiest and its pretty cheap, go to your local hardware store they'll hook you up
