  1. I don't think gold leaf is real gold. I think it is just gold colored.

  2. You have to pat it onto whatever you are going to apply it to. Also, Gold leaf? Are you rich!?

  3. CAREFULLY remove it from the corner down. PS - I don't think it will make you much $ if that's what you're doing! It is real, however, and I suppose if you have the patience it would be worth it. LT

  4. Depends what you mean by "easily".  First of all, gold leaf is ridiculously thin.  Gold can be hammered or rolled so thin you can see light through it. Still if it's gold, it's currently worth about $913.20US / Troy oz.   Prices change constantly, you can check them online here:

As far as melting it down, gold melts at 1947°F,  Your home stove or charcoal grill do not get even remotely that hot.  Without special equipment, you are out of luck.  How much do you have?  You could probably sell it as is for quite a bit.  Other than that, see a goldsmith or a refinery.   There are also lots of internet sites that advertise that they buy scap gold.  I have not used any myself, so I cannot recommend one.
