I had my grill on my concrete sidewalk and now there is a big grease/oil mark on the concrete that will not go away. Will anything get rid of it?

  1. Pour kitty litter over the spot.  Grind it in with your feet, kind of like do the twist to push it in and soak up the grease.

Let set for an hour or so.  Sweep away.

Squirt some Dawn dish soap in a bucket of warm water.  Use a scrub brush and brush down the spot.  Rinse.  Repeat until clean.

If for some reason the Dawn doesn't get the grease up, you might have to purchase some TSP in the paint department of your local hardware store and clean the spot with that.  Mix solution according to directions on jug.

  2. If you have access to a presure washer, use it. It should blast all of the grime and stains off of the concrete.

If not, get a good stiff bristle brush or scrubber. Use some laundry detergent and water. Scrub it well, then let it sit for a little while and scrub again. It should come off.

  3. make a paste of tide and water, scrub that in with a broom ( the big kind ) let it sit for half an hour thenwet it down again and scrub it one more time...sometimes adding ammonia to that mixture will make it work a little better (make sure you dont mix in bleach !!!)

    then sparay off

    should be good then

  4. Oh God,what a pain in the behind! And hard to get rid of also! You can use the Tide, but Dawn Dishsoap is better.Befor you do anything, pour some sand,or sawdust,or cat litter over it and let set overnight.Stir it up ever so often with a broom. Then use the soap. It will be gone. The sand draws the oil out of the pourous concrete. It took a oil stain out of a piece of cardboard I had planned for an art project. Byee

  5. If the stain is recent just liquid dish soap will work.  Squirt it on, add a little water, use a nylon scrub brush to work it in (metal brushes will gouge the concrete) and hose it off.  Or, if you're worried about pollutants going down the storm drain, put cat litter on it to absorb the soapy/oil liquid and sweep up.

  6. muriatic acid will remove it, but b ware it also chews up cement "real quick".  i suggest u dilute it with water, and don't file suit on me if ur driveway goes up in smoke.......
