  1. You don't remove the faucet and there is no washer.  There are a couple of makes.  Turn off the water both hot and cold to it.  Is the handle all metal?  If so, there will be a s***w on the side facing you.  Use an allen wrench to remove that, then remove the "ring" or nut under it.  With the ring will come some plastic stuff and under that will be a ball.  If it is plastic, get a new one and two springs and seats (the brand name is Delta) that go in under the ball.   Be certain to replace all the stuff that was on top of the ball facing the correct direction.

If the handle is plastic, pry off the center cover and there will be a phillips head s***w under it.  Take that out, remove the plastic k**b and proceed as before .

If the handle works such that you pull it up and down to turn on the water, email me--it's more complicated.  :)

  2. First, shut off the water.  Because as soon as you start taking it apart, the water pressure may blow it apart, resulting in broken pieces and a continuous gusher of water.

Next, as another respondent said, it is much easier to buy a replacement from Home Depot or similar, which come with instructions.

If you chose to repair the one you have, get a book on doing so from Home Depot or similar.  The books have lots of pictures.

  3. repairing the faucet would be  easier if you could identify the brand of faucet , as the faucet CAN have a washer it would depend on the age a manufacturer of the faucet .

  4. do not try to fix it. go to hardware store and get you a new one and it has directions how to install.

  5. You should be able to find a tiny s***w behind the faucet. Remove this and the head should come off to reveal a nut at the end of a spindle. Unscrew this nut and you can then withdraw the jumper holding the tap washer. Replacing it is a reverse of the instructions. Bfore you replace the jumper holding the washer, make sure the washer seating is clean. Just turn the washer over to a new side, no need to buy a new one. Make sure hot and cold water is turned off before you start.

  6. should have a s***w under the c or h on top of your k**b just pop the cap off

  7. if it is a moen.  turn off water to the sink.  remove the hot and cold marker on the handle and undo the s***w inside the handle and r.move. if it is a metal handle there will be an allen s***w under the hot/cold symbol. next remove the chrome cover peice on the top of the faucet that was under the handle.  next there will be a horshoe looking peice holding the cartridge down.  with a little peice sticking outside the faucet top pull that out and you can now remove the cartridge.  you may have to use a little force depending on how old it is.  once the cartridge is out take it to a hardware store and buy replacement. if it is a delta follow the other persons instructions.
