I did a search for my name, found it in the white pages on www.whitepages.com, and also when I search for my name, I find an article that I wish could be removed. It doesn't tell the full story about a car accident that was not my fault. How do I remove it?

  1. You would have to contact the site that owns your information.

This would be the white pages and the newspaper.

If it was public knowledge, or you authorized the information to be there by just clicking yes and not reading the fine print, you might have to pay to have it removed!

  2. Not easy.  You have to contact the site owner and request it be removed or edited.

They may do that as a courtesy but they are under no obligation to do that, unless you sue them and prove that the article is libellous, or that by publishing it they are breaking some kind of law.

You can contact your phone company and request that your number and name be unlisted from the phone book and from the online directory.
