Question:

How do I remove spyware on my computer?

I had the fake "antivirus xp 2008" on my computer and got rid of it. Now searches redirect me to random websites and sometimes it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I tried downloading different spyware removers from various websites, but when I try to install the downloaded file, it says the files are corrupted or it is not a valid win32 application. I tried getting Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, but it says its not a valid win32 application. Does anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it?

  1. Download and scan with the the following free software in order one by one, delete what ever they find should leave your PC free of infections:

    Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

    SmitfraudFix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.e...

    Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Editi...

Once you have removed the infections keep Avast and download Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop it returning. (links on my profile)

  2. restart your computer and if you dont want to cause you have pictures or whatever on your computer you can save your pictures and stuff on a CD then restart it :)

  3. Well the easier way to remove the spyware is to reformat your PC. Make sure your PC is set for system restore configuration. That's what I learn from TR Vidcom, their the ones who repair my PC.

  4. since your internet is broken after cleaning your PC, then try this: LSP-Fix.
