  1. What kind of door?

    Is it open or locked?

  2. try removing the broken part of the key with a magnet or a thin o-ring pick.

You might also be able to super glue a paper clip or wire end to the broken key and try pulling it out that way.

  3. Probably have to remove the entire lock/handle unit to get to it.

It's the instruction for a pretty generic door lock. Reverse them and it's how to remove the whole unit. Basically you remove the handle plates first, by undoing the 2 screws on the inside of the door. Then, remove the lock body by again undoing 2 screws on the stile of the door. Lastly, remove the single locking s***w holding the cylinder in place and your done.

Once you have it out, take it to Bunnings and get a new cylinder. It will have a new key, but at least you'll have a functioning lock again.

  4. if worst comes to worst and you cant get it out..start drilling the lock with a 1/8 drill bit,,use larger bits as you get through the lock,,,once you have the tumbler out ,you can remove the lock...replace with a new tumbler,,,

  5. shotgun?
