  1. Disable the auto-complete feature from your browser's settings Tools>>internet options>>'content ' tab

click 'Auto-complete' and clear all options in the next dialog box, click OK and Apply.

  2. It's really annoying. I don't think you can. I tried everything. It's also a privacy concern. If you type in/search an address, name, phone number and even ssn will appear. Even my pet's name and with last name is in the search engine. Believe it or not foul english language does not appear. I tried typing a$$h--e and FY are not there.

Disable option is only temporary. Yahoo is the only one that do this search suggestion.

  3. You cannot stop the blue bubble letters generated by the Yahoo Search Suggestions!  This is a marketing tool of Yahoo that tracks the frequency of all searches on the Internet.

A very troubling feature is that this tool records keywords of the searches that you and others within your home network have made.  This is troubling, for example, because Yahoo Search Suggestions on your children's computer gets populated with key words from the computer used by the parent's, the company laptop etc.  As far as I can tell, sharing a router on your home network facilitates this unwanted sharing of Internet search history.

The Yahoo Search Suggestions cannot be deleted by the usual Internet explorer procedures (delete browsing history in the tools menu).  And Yahoo Search Suggestions cannot be disabled longer than the length of a Yahoo browsing session:  Each time you log on to the Yahoo Home Page, Search Suggestions is enabled automatically.

Yes, this is a troubling feature in terms of control of your computer's configuration and ultimately the privacy of all Yahoo Search Engine users.

  4. I would like to know myself. This isnt something I like having Yahoo do for me. I dont need their help in finding websites.

You can disable it as long as you dont close Yahoo.

I am glad I am not the only one that hates it.

    Good Luck in fixing it.

  5. i asked the same question. if what jjm says is true, i think the only way not to get it is to use a diferent search engine.
