How do I remove the window handle from my '97 Cavalier?

Okay, my speaker in my driver side door sounds like c**p so I wanna swap it out. The only thing between me and the speaker is the door panel. I can't get the window handle off. I looked at other similar questions and they said to use a thin s***w driver or rag to loosen a U-shaped thing inside it, but there isn't anything there. I'd prefer you answered if you've done this with the exact same model of car, including year because the 96' Cavalier is different.

there is a retaining clip on the back of the handle....the tool is the best route to go, a flat head s***w driver can be use also....just make sure to keep your eye on the clip because it will spring off and they are easy to loose. the clip is C shaped and the open end of it should be facing the handle.

i had a 95 and a 02 cav...they were the same....99% of window cranks are held on like this. i used to work at a body shop and haven't seen anything differnt like what your saying. the ojnly other thing would be a s***w in the center.

Hi, Go to autoparts store and buy the tool for removing the retaining clip. It will cost less than 10.00     Good luck !

yeah just got to an auto store and tell them you need the tool to remove it makes life so much easyer
