How do I renew my IP address?

I have a wireless connection for my home that's used by three different computers. One computer isnt't connecting to the internet. When i click the repair button it doesn't work because it says that it cannot repair the IP address. The wireless is working because all the other computers are connected. Is there a way that i can repair the IP address?

You can use ipconfig in a command window.  Click start, run and type cmd to open the command window then type ipconfic /renew. If this does not work try going to device manager and uninstalling your network adapter and restarting.  When your computer restarts it will re-detect your adapter and install it with the default settings.

power off all your wireless routers, modems, unplugs wifi usb adapters, linksys hookups etc. for xp (go to start menu click run and type in cmd. a black screen should appear. then type in ipconfig/flush.) for vista go to the search menu on start and type cmd and then type ipconfig/flush)

after you have type the command. turn off the computers in your networks (this includes if you use wi-fi with xbox 360, ps3 and nintendo wii etc).

once you have done this turn on your modems, wireless routers, linksys hookups, usb wi fi adapters etc. then go to command prompt again and type in ipconfig and your should see your ip address has been changed.

for the best chances of your ip address changing your have went into command prompt and typed in ipconfig/flush and the routers and modems off, keep them off for as long as possible (overnight, two days, etc.

extra help: command prompt is a great way to fix problems with your computer. just type "using command prompt" on yahoo search or google and learn lots of ways to help your computer
