  1. To renounce, you would need to go to the US embassy, fill out the appopriate forms and swear your intention before a consular officer. They're required to counsel you to make sure you aren't being coerced into doing this and that you appear to be in your right mind, so try not to drool while talking to them.  Assuming you are eligible for Korean citizenship, you would be subject to its laws, including military service.  You would no longer have a right to travel to the US or live or work there, so you would need a visa to return, like any other foreigner not from a country in the Visa Waiver program.

  2. You can write a formal letter to the US State department, renouncing your citizenship. They will ask you to come in so that you will be able to repeat the renunciation in the presence of senoir officials.

Make sure that you have another citizenship first. If you renounce, and then the Koreans decide not to grant you citizenship, you will have, in essence, no citizenship, and be a stateless person, with no rights anywhere.
