How do I repair a bouyancy tank on my boat?

i have a split in the bouyancy tank on my dinghy It has been repaired in the past but this has now come away revealing a creeping crack. Do I have to drill a hole either side of the crack to stop it from going any further? also can I just fill the gap between the old glass fibre and the hull with a water proof sealant or am i better of stripping out the fibre glass and applying new? The split is about 7 inches long and is about an inch from the deck.

more glass fibre i think !!   always works for me !! xx

for the short term sealant will work, once you prevent the crack from getting longer by as you said putting a small hole at either end of the crack.

for the longer term you will have to consider sanding back the fibreglass then repair it with new fibre glass unfortunately.
