How do I replace the skimmer basket housing on my above ground pool?

I have a rectangular Kayak above ground pool. The skimmer basket housing has to be replaced.Is there anyway to do it without draining down all that water. If not how do I do it.I have a pretty steady leak and need to do it myself.ASAP!!

Well...you would have to drain the pool just under the skimmer. Then its an easy replacement. Just make sure to not leave the pool drained for a long time. Your liner can dry out and crack very easily when it doesn't have the water in it.

No big deal, I've done it several times over the years

Just drain the water to just below the skimmer remove the screws, housing and gaskets and replaced them.  DO NOT drain too much water, the water maintains pressure on the liner and keeps it in place, i.e. keeps the hole in the liner aligned with the hole in the wall
