Question:

How do I report a potential TOS violation?

There is a gentleman with many groups that manages to sign you up under every screen name you might have, without you actively signing up. I spent the evening joining one of his groups so I could unsub. I have one account, my Cox cable that I NEVER use and he had snagged me on that list as well.

In all fairness and honesty, I did subscribe to 1 of his groups. How do I deal with this situation?

I just sent him a cease and desist message from my Cox account, saving a copy. Seriously, I never use that account for any of my lists.

All ideas welcomed.

  1. it is a TOS violation to add people without their permission, says it right on the page as you're adding people.

here's the abuse form but you can also stop people from adding you to their groups

How can I prevent moderators from adding me to their groups or sending me invitations?

  2. So he's adding you to his Groups (other than the one you voluntarily subscribed to) without your permission?  That does sound like a potential TOS violation worth reporting to Yahoo Groups staff; they have a form for these types of things at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/... .
