I've been getting a lot of e-mail scams, and I need to know where I can report them so others don't fall for them and something can be done to stop them (the scam-artists).

  1. With great difficulties, as there are tons of talk about it and in the news, yet there seems to be nowhere you can really go to report them.

  2. it depends what sort of "scam" you are talking about. If it appears to be from a bank and inviting you to log in to your account via an E Mail then you need to notify the bank the scammer is trying to con you into believing is sending the message. The bank's website will tell you what e mail address to communicate with. But every bank has a different security address. Do a Yahoo search on

    phishing scam

to find out more about what to do with them

If on the other hand you are talking about E Mails from Africa or Holland asking you if they can use your bank account to deposit a huge sum of money, or something similar that is known as the 419 scam and you need to do a Yahoo search on

    419 scam

to find out more about them and who to contact.

Always remember the advice from those who know about Internet scams "if it sounds too good to be true it is"

  3. http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

It is the internet crime complaint office. Its a division of the government.

  4. UK scams@oft.gsi.gov.uk Scams Office of Fair Trading, for their awareness - they will not take any action

ConsumerDirect Scams Will forward to OFT and Trading Standards
