How do I report this?

I write for my local paper and I cover the high school baseball team. Recently there was an incident in which the manager of the baseball team shoved an umpire and was saying the F word a couple of times.

How do I report that? My parents say I shouldnt write about the shoving because I could lose my job but I think its too important to pass up.

What sould I do?

I agree with kolorz, write the article. If they don't use it, do some citizen journalism. TheCitizensJournal.com ( http://www.thecitizensjournal.com ) allows anyone to write articles on any topic you chose. Write the article there, it will get its own dedicated page, and you can point everyone to it. Just make sure it is well written and objective (not a rant), otherwise it won't get posted.

Just do the story, it will report itself if need be. Let the truth be written. Keep a camera handy if you are going to be getting the full story out there, people want to see the picture.
