Question:

How do I repot my venus flytraps?

My flytraps are doing so well, they have nice big leaves and keep growing more. I would like to know the best way to repot them.

Do they prefer to be nice and crowded in their little pots?

Do I separate the plants out or keep them all in a lump together?

It's the middle of winter here at the moment, but the traps like being on my kitchen window so much, they didn't go dormant.

  1. The first site below looks like it tells you everything about when and how to repot your venus flytrap.

  2. There aren't many hard and fast rules to repotting Venus Flytraps.  You can crowd them, separate them or lump them all together.  I usually separate them to give them more room to grow and so they aren't competing for light.  Many growers like to crowd them together to get an ocean of traps.

The only thing you have to make sure of is that you use proper soil.  You can read about that here:

Good luck with your flytraps!  I hope that they hang on until next fall so you can let them enter dormancy naturally.
