How do I reset my iTunes library? It's showing songs I haven't had on my PC in months...?

I lost my ipod earlier this year so i uninstalled iTunes. I have a new, non iTunes MP3 player which I don't expect to sync up with iTunes (obviously). However I was going to use iTunes as an ID3 editor since its pretty easy to use in that regard. How can I reset/update my iTunes library to only show songs that are currently on my computer (and better yet, only in a specific folder)?
