How do I reset the factory remote on my car

My batteryin my remote was getting weak on my 2001 Olds Aurora so I replaced it. Now the remote does not work. How do I rest the remote?

If you installed a new battery its really easy.Point the remote toward the center of the dash.Push and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote.This will take up to 15 seconds.When the doors lock and unlock release the buttons.Its that easy.This is called remote resynchronizing and is necessary after all battery changes.Best of luck.
