On Monday afternoon I made a purchase of $124.39 at the University bookstore. Tonight, when I checked my Bank of America account on-line, I see two identical charges of $124.39. I kept the receipt, and there was only one chargte of 124.39. How do I prove to the bookstore that I got double charged? Should I contact my bank account first and show them the identical charges?

  1. ~~On BofA's website when you go into customer service there is a dispute a charge button. Go in and fill it out. They will give you credit back and take up the dispute for you. The bookstore must show them two signed receipts. When they correct it, they will let you know. It's very simple. If you have any problems they have an on line banking number you can call for assistance.~~

  2. I will keep it simple.....

Call the number on the back of the card and tell them what is up. Odds are they will fix it. And if anything gets odd later you will have a record of the call.

  3. Print out and bring your statement and receipt to the bookstore to complain about its mistake (don't need to show your account balance). Normally its staffs would give you refund into your bank account.

Beside, you also should inform your bank about it, just in case if the vendor won't give you a refund.
