I am a 21 year old graduate and am wanting to continue my learning by doing a PGCE. To do this I need to resit my science GCSE as i failed it 5 years ago. I want to do a cramming course specialising in biology and then take the exam. However I have not been able to find anywhere where I can do both these things. I live in Hertfordshire so somewhere close would be best.

  1. Talk to the OU. Their qualifications are recognised by colleges (they are in fact licensed to teach PGCE themselves).Their short courses only cost around 100 quid and are well worth it, and you get tutor support online and by telephone.

  2. look into your local colleges, i'm sure someof them will offer a gcse re take course! good luck

  3. You could just  cram yourself and enter at a local college.

I did with english. I got a copy of the syllabus and some old exam papers and crammed for a week. submitted the course work and got an A* .(And I am no genius, believe me.)

  4. Contact your local secondary school or 6th form college. They may be able to arrange it for you, or at least point you in the right direction.

  5. Just go to the place where you took the GCSE in the first place and ask if you can retake it! there'll be a charge of retaking the exam, though, and they might not let you - you're 21, whereas most people take them at 15/16!

  6. well GCSE runs out after 6 years so its important that u retake it. try colleges in you area it might just bin that u need to go to night school once a week, i know sum1 tht had to do that, and they passed it in 4 months.

if not, you can see if community centrs in ya area do it because they also sit these tests. go on the government education site and they will gove more details on this

  7. Look at colleges, and higher education establishments around your area. They may offer a science GCSE, or if not they could point you in the right direction. Good luck. =]

  8. you need to ring all the local colleges or look online there may be a home study course you can do
