Basically, I upgraded my PC. Installed OS on a new hard drive. Hook up my old hard drive as a slave. I am able to access it but I am not able to find the folder I backed up all my files to on the desktop.

  1. you didn't remove the old os from your drive? you go into users, then correct user, then desktop on the old drive, start from my computer then click the old drive

  2. It should be on the D drive assuming your 2nd Hard drive (the old drive) is now labeled D.

    D:\documents and settings\Username\Desktop\backup Folder

Username is the username of the profile you logged on with. This can be something you know such as "Dave" or perhaps the "Administrator"account.  Check all the folders under the "Documents and SEttings" folder.

You can also try searching for the folder by name.  The search feature can be set to search only on the D Drive, or you can set it for 'All Hard Drives', too.
