I just took out my SD memory card from my digital camera, and plugged it into the reader on my computer. However, it's been so long since I've done this, that I can't remember what to do next, in order to be able to view my pics on my computer!

I have Windows XP. Please help!

  1. You should see it under "my computer"- it'll show up as though it was a drive.

  2. If you have an SD slot it takes a minute once you put it in and it should automatically come up to run and will ask you what file name you want for those pictures. Once you type a name in and it can be what ever you want to name it- it will then download them. If this does not happen for you then you will have to trouble shoot with your my computer or pictures. Your other option is to go to walmart and do it at a place like that and have them put it on a cd. Good Luck!!

  3. After you insert your SD card into the reader give it a few seconds to access the card and then click on your My Computer icon.  You should see a new disk listed under your computer which will be the card in the reader.

  4. Go to my computer and look at the drives shown. A is floppy, C is hard drive, D is cd/dvd drive,  E should be your reader. If there is no E or nothing shows on it, unplug your sd card and plug it back in, wait a few seconds and it should appear. It may show several files with your camera's name on them, just open each one of them 'till you find your pics.

  5. you wait then it comes on the screen. or you go Computer then click on it

  6. Once you put the card in you should eventually see the choices on your screen asking what action you would like to take and you can click on the one you want to do.
