I recently received a package that is not mine, and it belongs to none of my neighbors. I have no time to drive all the way to the post office to drop off the package. What else can I do to return it?

  1. This has happened to me fairly often because I just moved houses, so the previous owner's mail still gets delivered here.

All you have to do is in pen or sharpie write "wrong address" on the package/envelope. Then leave it in your mailbox and your mailcarrier will pick it up for you.

    Hope this helps!

  2. If you can catch your mail carrier, just hand it back to him or her.
