Question:

How do I return to the old version of Firefox?

I recently updated my Firefox browser to 3.0, and I must say it's pretty dandy but there are some features (such as the History) that I preferred on the older version. The 3.0 isn't enough to keep me around, so how can I return to the previous version of Firefox?

  1. Firefox will nag you to update if you use the older version.

I think you can do some tweaking if you don't like the History feature on Firefox 3.

  2. uninstall firefox 3

    and then install firefox 2

  3. suggestion : try the new IE8. REALLY cool.

  4. It's not very smart to roll back to older versions. The newer versions are much more secure. Besides, it will constantly nag you to update anyway.

If you are needing to kill the "Awesome Bar", that stupid address bar thing, here's the fix:

-> In a new window or tab, type "about:config" in the address bar, hit enter.

-> Ingore the stupid warning... type "urlbar" in the filter box, hit enter.

-> Double click on browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped, setting it to true (it will turn bold).

-> Restart Firefox, and the feature will be disabled.
