I do not like the new version of Yahoo. How do I return to the old version. I have tried cm.my.yahoo.com/switch and I keep getting the new version despite the fact that before I click on switch I am told that my old version is sitting there just as I left it (which by the way, I did not leave, the new version just appeared. Please tell me how to get back to the old version, or I will look for another alternative to replace Yahoo.

  1. There apparently does not seem to be a way to change back. I really do not appreciate the fact that we are being forced to use this new layout for Yahoo. I DO NOT like Outlook and I am being forced to use an Outlook type email system with Yahoo. If that is the case, then there is no reason for me to keep my Yahoo account, now is there?

  2. yahoo is simply uncooperative. all you can do is hit them where they live; maybe they'll get the idea.

here is a place where you can get a hosts file replacement and painless installer which will prevent the download and appearance of yahoo (and many others') advertising:

in the end, i honestly hope that yahoo comes to it's senses, but in lieu of that, i suppose that it should be more humane to hasten their consumption by microsoft. . .

  3. I am going to netscape to avoid being forced to accept the new page.

  4. Hate the new version.  I want o be able to switch back to classic - see no links to classic.

  5. You don't. This is from their website....and I think it really stinks!! How 'bout you?

  6. yahoo have changed everyone to their new home page by stealth, your old home page is now not recognised by the server so your wasting your time trying to get it back again, it like a new marriage, we are stuck with it for better or worse

  7. I'm using firefox and it won't let me switch back.  Maybe it's time to find another home page!  Too bad I really liked the old homepage!

  8. I've tried but can't find a way back - I am sorry but after over 10 years (I lost track of exactly how long) I give up - if Yahoo won't pay attention to all the people who have taken the trouble to say they dont want the new version - then I am off to igoogle

  9. Have you tried using the refresh key?  It works for me.

Edit.....sorry I didn't understand your question.  Forget my answer.  I use Google......way more user friendly.
