How do I reverse indent in Microsoft Word?

  1. I think what you call a reverse indent is known in Word as a hanging indent.

    To create a hanging indent in Word 2003 or earlier, select the works cited paragraph(s) and click on Format | Paragraph | Indents and Spacing tab | Indentation: Special: Hanging.

    To create a hanging indent in Word 2007, select the works cited paragraph(s), click on the Page Layout tab, click on the little arrow at the bottom right corner of the Paragraph group on the Ribbon, and click on Indents and Spacing tab | Indentation: Special: Hanging.
