How do I right a letter to the procurator fiscal?

I have to right a letter as I would like to drop charges against my boyfriend.. Can someone give me help on how I go about writing this.. Do I just say I no longer would like to press charges?? Do I also say dear sir/madam..?? nice answers thanks.. Yeah the case is a domestic one..Will provide more info if needed...
