There is no ten thousands place in 890...?

599, 008 would be rounded at the second 9 because that is the 10 000s place. so it would be 600, 000. Because when you round up 9, it hits 10 and you are forced to round the 5 to 6.

well, i don't know about the 890 part, since it only goes up to the hundreds place. for 599,008, you look at the ten thousands place, which is the first 9. then you look at the number next to it, which is the second 9. since 9 is greater than 5, you round the number up to 600,000 (i think). when you round the first 9 up, you have to carry one over to the hundred thousands place.  hope this helped!
