How do I route through a computer with two NICs (from internet to computer to LAN)?

I have a computer (computer 1, XPe SP2) with two network cards (A and B). Network card A (192.168.0.3) connects via static IP to another local device I'll call the box (192.168.0.2). Card B connects to the internet and I know it's IP so I can ping it from computer 2 (XPpro SP3) through the internet. Computer 2 has a program that needs to connect to the box. Firewalls are not an issue and windows firewall is disabled on computer 1. I just need to know how to setup the network connections (Bridge, ICS, ect) on computer 1 (and maybe computer 2) so that I can enter some IP address on computer 2 and have it reach the box.

  1. I have don't this but I was using a program to route it though.

Winroute was the name of the program but I don't know if you can still get it. it was $1000 so it was not cheap

  2. You need to enable ICS (internet connection sharing) on computer 1.

That will supply all the "routing" you need.

Here is the step by step.

Thats all you should need to have internet on both machines

While your at it, upgrade to SP3 for BOTH machines!  Its just an update!
