How do I run a faster 5k?

Right now I am running a 5k at 23:40 sec. I want to drop my time to 20:00. I mostly do 4 mile runs right now as I just started training for a half marathon but I want to increase my 5k pace as well.

  2. How many days a week are you training?? and is 4 Mi. the distance you do all the time?  

    Without knowing any of this I'd say going to have to mix it up a little for 5K race training (getting faster) your going to have to run a long run each week of 6-7 miles at about 8:45 pace.  Then do a little tempo running as well during the week (7:50 pace).  The main thing is to get to about 20-25 miles a week steady........then your times will drop for sure.  Good Luck
