How do I safely download gimp (windows xp) and what are mirrors?

(for Australian use).

I keep trying & it says something about using another mirror.

It doesn't matter. Mirrors mean the same thing is online in different countries. Choose a mirror close to you, and if it doesn't work, choose another. They're all the same, just mirrors farther from you will make the download a bit slower

Mirrors will provide same application. It's just in different server, so you can use any of them, it doesn't matter

mirrors are servers from another country or location which host or have the same file as the original download link, mirrors can also be other websites. ^_^

The mirror is the site you download from. There are a lot of choices. Pick the one closest to you.

actually mirrors are location of file which you wanted to download on net.

You can use any mirror to download gimp.
