I have this camcorder: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Samsung-SC-DC173U-MiniDVD-Camcorder-SC-DC173U/sem/rpsm/oid/172231/catOid/-13063/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I just bought a new laptop with Windows Vista, and I used to have XP. I have a video I recorded onto a memory card from my camcorder and now I want to upload it onto my laptop. I've tried plugging it into my USB port and just putting my memory card into my laptop but I don't know how to save it to my laptop. After putting my memory card into my laptop I opened up MY COMPUTER, then I clicked on SD/MMC (F:) (the memory card) and then when I right clicked on the video, I sent it to MY DOCUMENTS and then dragged to to MY VIDEOS. I can play the video on my laptop, but when I try to publish the video on Window's Movie Maker, it won't work. Am I saving the video wrong, and it's not publishing correctly? Or is there something else wrong?

  1. It looks like you've done everything right, but Windows Movie Maker can't handle MPEG-2, which is what I assume the camcorder's recording in.  Have you ever been able to edit your videos with WMM?

  2. Try youconvertit.com to convert the video to avi or wma!
