How do I saved a video from a DVD onto my computer?

Umm I'm using my Windows computer, this is like a homevideo that my dad took with his little handycam. I really have no clue what to do so please help me!

  1. You will need a converter box to pass the signals through and in the computer


  2. You need to have  a DVD drive. If you have one, you should have software that allows you to rip the DVD to your computer.

  3. Get a copy of DVDDecrypter from the link - you just specify which DVD drive you want to copy from and which folder you want to copy to.  You haven't said what you're going to do with the files - some DVD playing apps expect the folder structure to be the same as the DVD standard, so just in case I'd copy the files to a folder called something like DadsDVD\video_ts.  It's the "video _ts" folder name that's important.

  4. If your computer has a DVD drive, you can rip the video with HandBrake... http://handbrake.fr/

    Warning: Video from DVD based camcorders is not meant to be edited. The video quality will not be so good.

    Advice: If you want good editable video, hard drive or higher-end flash memory is better... and MiniDV Tape is best available video quality.
