How do I scan a photo and get it onto my 360 and also onto my avatar? Please explain simply as I'm slow. Ta.

you can't have it as avatar, but just connect you xbox up to your computer, download windows media centre and you can transfere stuff.

After your scanner puts the picture into the editor for you to view and edit.. there should be an option on the editor toolbar for FILE.. click it and there should be the option SAVE AS in the drop down menu.. click it.

then when the popup comes up choose a place for it like in your MY PICTURES file in your MY DOCUMENTS Folder then under the name of the file slot on the bottom of the popup.. click the down symbol at the end of the slot there and it should drop down a menu that will  show you a lot of different file types.. choose JPEG or JPG as your filetype..

then give the picture a name in the slot above this one and save it to your computer

Then come to the 360 to your MY PAGE.. (this is your editing page) and do this..

Look  above your id picture  there is  the option Edit Personal Photos.. click it

On the page that comes up click the browse option in any of the bottom three slots.. do not try to use the first one.. it does not work.

It will open a popup to your MY PICTURES file and choose a photo that is the jpg file format and not over 5 MB in size.

Go to the bottom of the page and click SAVE.

It will take you back to your MY PAGE where you click the Edit Personal Photos option once more and beside your uploaded picture or under it will be an option that says Primary ... click it and once again go to the bottom of the page and save it..

After you do this come back to you Answers Profile and click onto edit my profile..

on the page that comes up choose from the options there to Use My 360 Id Photo as My Answers Profile Photo.

click save at the bottom of the page and you have done it.

go to your 360 page, click my page, you will see on the left where the avatar or picture goes it says edit personal photo's, click that

and it should change page, click where it says browse and that should take you to your pictures etc, make sure any picture you upload is a jpeg, you can upload up to 4, then just click the dot to choose which picture you want to use. good luck.

you need to elaborate on what scanner you have, if its a printer/scanner, a fax or something diffrent.... tell us the make like lex mark or dell... then wed be more helpful and accurate at answering your problem

scan your photo

save it in my pi folder in my document

file name will be (your name.jpg)

then upload any where you like

360 or you can email to any one

Once you've scanned it in to your computer, you'll have to save it so that your computer can then send it other places. Save it under a name you'll remember, and in a location you can find again. (If you're really a beginner at all this, just save it to your desktop. Then you'll *definitely* know where it is.)

Now that it's saved, go to any site where you want to use the photo. When the site asks what photo do you want to use, select the one that you've saved on your desktop and that one will be uploaded to the site to become your avatar.
